Christmas Carols

December 11, 2007

We had the annual English Chirstmas Carol service on Sunday.  We have been preparing for about a month with mince pies galore!  (You can’t buy them here…)  Instead of the usual Bible readings Hilary and I adapted the texts into news reports.  I think it went down quite well, there were a few titters!  We hoped that hearing the same story in different words might make people think…

We were able to give away many tracts, 3 gospels and 2 Bibles - which is a big change from last year.  I remember feeling quite dissapointed las year but this time people seemed keen to stay and chat and were open to spritual topics.

The preaher was a Frank, an American missionary studying French in Paris with his wife.  He was really the ‘man for the occasion’ and did a fantastic job.  I’m really greatful to have met them.

I’m afraid I didn’t take any pictures…I was too busy running around!

Monday I was in Tours to put the church plant projet to my team leader.  He is favourable.  The next hurdle is the pastors’ meeting on the 20th.  It’s quite scary now that things are getting real.  I relise I haven’t explained what’s going on!  I would prefer to wait and see if we get the go-ahead, then I can explain concrete plans rather than dreams and visions!
