2 weeks of Evangelsim!
I’ve been in Abbeville, North France, for the past 2 weeks on an evangelism camp. Great times!
The usual routine was a morning of worship, prayer, teaching and training. In the afternoon we went out to do different activites: The English bus coffee bar, puppet street shows, litter collection, fair trade stand, concerts, exhabition on Martin Luther King. Phew! I’m exhausted today!
I was mostly on the bus. It was a great place to meet people and to discuss. Lots and lots of young people came on in the evening. It was nice to see some of the same kids from last year, but sad at the same time. Many of them were unemployed and turned up drunk, some as early as 2 in the afternoon. We were able to pray and talk with them about the hope we have in Jesus.
2 young lads I got to know gave their lives and hearts to Jesus on the last day. It was really special to be with them as they realised that they were basing their lives on vague ideas and they chose personally to trust Jesus to be their Way and their Life. Please pray for them. As it was the last day it was impossible to do much follow up. The pastor will be getting in touch by mail to give them the addresses of the churches nearest to them.
The ‘Discutheque’. An old London bus converted into a coffee bar.
Tomorrow I’m off for a 2 week holiday with my parents in Brittany. I’m really looking forward to seeing them. I hope we get some sun!
