La rentree

September 2, 2008

So it’s back to it.  Time to forget beaches, calm and open space.  Here we go for a new start in Paris with concrete, noise and no space for Fifi!

I got back from a fab holiday with my parents in Brittany on Friday night.  Saturday there was the wedding of a couple that are flitting in and out of our church.  The snacks after the wedding were held at our buliding as it is close to the town hall.  It was great to be able to welcome over 30 guests to the church and let them know we exist!

Sunday there were 2 new couples at the church.  One family and one young married couple.  All Christians.  I’m really keen that the young couple stay!  We got on really well and it would be great to have friends my age in the church.  They are ‘church hunting’ at the moment as they have just got married.  I’m praying they come back. emoticon

Today I had a 4hr meeting with the pastor to discuss my job discription!  Phew!  It went well but at times it was difficult communication wise.  It is clear that we are coming from very different points of view.  Although I will be involved in most parts of church life, my particular responsibities will be the women, naturally!, and all that involves communication and introduction to the church.  Such as church literature, Alpha groups, new believer bible studies, welcome desk etc.  I’m looking forward to it and I’m very happy with the fact that we are spending time to lay firm foundations rather than just blundering though and working it out as we go along.

Tomorrow Fifi will go for her MOT.  At 19 years old it could prove painful!

Also rather random request…but I would really like to get a kitten after christmas.  The problem is when I go on deputation for 3 months next year.  Could you pray that I find a solution.  ie someone who will look after him/her for me?!  Random I know, but a kitten would be so cool!!
